I wish that I could show the person who donated this TV stand the after picture! It looks amazing. I initially bought this for my daughter’s room over but think I will keep it! The TV stand cost $18. It is very heavy! My husband and I struggled to get it in his Jeep. First I looked on line for an inspiration piece. Then talked to my daughter about what she liked and didn’t like. Below is the inspiration picture. It was in very good shape except for a small area that looked like a…

I decided it was high-time to show our furry friends some love around the house. Well, decor love. Hugs, kisses, walks and treats they get plenty of from our big family! But, for years these poor dogs have had mismatched bowls randomly put on the floor for their food and water. Bowls got kicked around, the water often spilled, and the food seemed to always be all around the bowl, but not actually in the bowl. This weekend I upgraded their serving dishes for the cost of some table legs…

One of my favorite things to do is make stuff out of other stuff, and because I'm a girl who pretty much sees a wind chime in almost everything this project quickly morphed into a wind chime. Here are my supplies. You can find the list at the bottom of this post. To start I measured, marked and drilled 10 evenly spaced holes around the bottom of the grater. Then I added my split rings through the holes. For the owl wings I'm using two vintage Christmas tree cookie cutters. I dril…

I'm ready for Spring and this easy peasy, totally inexpensive project is giving me the Spring vibes!! I'm using this as a centerpiece but it would look lovely on a shelf or mantle too! These pots come in a pack of two at the Dollar Tree. These birds were $2.50 each at Dollar General. But you could easily shop your local thrift stores for those nick nacks! First I gave my pots and birds a quick coat of black paint They look like Halloween decor all black 🤔 Let them dry…

Normal at this time I am in full swing preparation for that was supposed to happen mid-May. It has been postponed to September 18th-20th of this year (2020).Thank goodness it hasn't been completely canceled and by that point hopefully things will be popping again. In the meantime I thought I would share the projects I've been working on. First up is this pair of reeeeeally boring chairs. They were probably mass produced for offices or hotels and I just happen to find two together.&nbs…
I love to thrift for accent furniture pieces for my home. But, so often the wood tone is orange, red, or cherry, depending on the era of the piece. Stripping furniture is one way to get rid of that unwanted wood tone. Stripping furniture is not for the faint of heart! It can be laborious and tedious! This guide on How to Strip Furniture with Citristrip will help with that!Disclosure: I am not a professional furniture restorer, I am only a hobbyist, and these are the steps that work…

We have a bazillion plastic Easter eggs, but we always tend to buy new ones each year. So instead of throwing the old ones out, I decided to reuse them to decorate our home for spring. With a little bit of twine and a lot of glue, I made some pretty twine eggs that look a whole lot better than before! #Easter #Spring You can use any color you want, but I'm crushing on aqua lately, so I bought some aqua blue twine and some patterned burlap ribbon. I slathered the plastic eggs with glu…
